VOLLEYBALL RULES
1.THE SERVE
A) Server must serve from behind the restraining line until after contact
B) Ball may be served underhand or overhand
C) A served ball that hits the net is playable as long as it goes over the net and must be inbounds
D) There is No woman hit rule (a woman does not have to hit before it goes over)
E) No blocking serves or touching the net
2.ROTATION
A) Teams will rotate players each time they win the serve
B) Players will rotate in clockwise manner; male and female or vice versa
C) Must switch sides after each match
3. PLAYING THE GAME
A) Maximum of 3 hits per side; blocks do not count as hits
B) Players may NOT hit the ball twice
C) A ball touching boundary line is considered IN
D) NO open handed hits
E) NO carries
F) Spiking is permitted, but reaching over or under the net is not legal
G) Games are played by RALLY SCORING meaning, no matter which team serves one team will always get a point.
Must play all 3 games to 25- must win by 2 points or a cap to 27
H) Starting the game will be decided with a volley. The team that wins the volley decides to either choose the side to start on or serves first
4. COURTS & REGULATIONS
A) Net height is 8 feet
B) Entry fee is used for upkeep on the courts, nets, printing schedules, etc…..
C) Ropes are considered fair territory
D) VALID LICENSE ONLY FOR BALL RENTALS
E) ROSTERS must be submitted no later than two weeks after season starts or points will be taken away, remember you need points to be placed in the season tournament
F) All players in our league will be 21 years of age or older
G) SUBS- Can only be made by the team serving at the time of rotation. If there is an injury, a substitution can be made at any time
5. AMOUNT OF PLAYERS
There will be a maximum of 6 players and a minimum of 4 players playing on the court at one time. The amount of males with never exceed female players. There will be a maximum of 12 players on each team roster
Examples: 4 females & 2 males are acceptable BUT 4 males & 2 females is NOT ACCEPTABLE
6. END OF SEASON TOURNAMENT
Teams will be placed in a single elimination tournament based on season points. The league will be divided into upper and lower division, meaning the 1st place team will play the 8th placed team not the 16th. For season leagues of less than 16 teams like monday nights there will be a double elimination
Cancellations of Games
Games will be played in most weather conditions. This means games will go on in rain and cold. Rainouts will not be called until game time so please be ready to play. Teams must have enough players on site in order to get the forfeit wins if the opponents don’t show. Games will only be cancelled if courts are flooded, torrential down pours or high winds. When El Paso cancels games it will be posted immediately on our website.

LATE TEAMS
Please be on time for your scheduled games and limit practice time. Waiting time will go as follows: 15 minutes late= 1 game loss 30 minutes late= 3 game loss. When this happens it must be recognized by an El Paso Employee only to make it legal
El Paso’s House Rules
1. Must be 21 to consume alcohol and you are required to carry valid identification at all times. Any problems with any underage consumption will be asked to leave our property
2. Fighting WILL NOT be tolerated on any El Paso property. Violation of this rule will result in a permanent removal from our establishment
3.Alcohol and cigarettes are permitted in the volleyball cemented areas only. Please use the ashtrays and not the ground. ALL DRINKS WILL BE IN PLASTIC to protect everyone from broken glass
4. Any injuries must be reported to bartender to fill out necessary forms
5. No children in the bar areas after 10pm- Keep children away from courts that are in play
6. Shoes and shirts will be worn in the bar at all times
7. DO NOT bring in your own food and drinks
8. Tabs for food and drinks will only be allowed with a Valid Drivers License or Credit Card. We accept credit cards, cash, check or there is also an ATM machine onsite

2 Wins = 5 Points 3 Wins = 8 Points
